Through Scripture, Jesus calls us to live
As courageous disciples by word and action:
To surrender ourselves to God
To embrace one another,
To express God’s love for all creation.
On November 11th, worship for both the 8:30 and 10:45 services is being planned as a special time to celebrate the dreams and hopes of the Church of the Brethren.
The new Brethren Vision above is the theme of the service and the content of the service will be expressed through the inspiration of the creative arts. A drama, titled “The Great Debate”, written by Linda Daywalt will be performed. The EDM, Eastern Dance Ministry, including Theresa Ford, will add a beautiful expression of God’s love. The hymns that we sing will be focused on the Celebration of the Vision through the themes of surrender, embracing one another, thanksgiving and the love for all creation.
Another component of the service will be interaction. In addition to our regular weekly Joys and Concerns when the congregation openly shares the need for thanksgiving and prayer, we will have more engaging opportunities to actively participate in the service. The Financial Stewardship Committee is planning to continue their work on commitment to the church and Pastor Dave is delivering a different style of sermon.
We encourage all of our members to attend church on November 11th to participate in and experience a special celebration that solidifies our commitment and dedication to both the future of our denomination and Green Tree.
