It was December 2, 2012, as members of Green Tree of all ages met at the church for a “new” Singing in the Season event. The Witness Commission had brainstormed throughout the year, wondering how we could change “Singing in the Season” slightly to be more about reaching outward and bringing the music of the season to the members of the congregation that have played such a vital part in our lives, but no longer are able to make it out to services or participate in the congregation as they used to. We were looking to make a difference, to share Christ’s light, to let those members know they are deeply loved and thought of often. Green Tree members gathered for this year’s “new” Singing in the Season event split up into two groups to carol to Green Tree members. Greeted with smiles and tears (and sometimes cookies and candy too), it was a pleasure to spend the evening with those we love and to feel Christ’s joy and peace that very special evening.
