The Jr. and Sr. High have been busy this month. We spent a morning at the Material Resources Center in Ephrata in March where we helped to sort and cut up old books to be recycled. At the end of March, the youth will be preparing for and hosting Green Tree’s annual Easter Egg Hunt.
In April, the Sr. High youth will be attending a District Camp Day at Camp Swatara, where we will get to climb the high ropes course and the climbing tower, as well as participate in hikes and a cookout. We are also preparing for a few fundraisers to raise money for our summer work camps.

Youth Update – January

After the new year, the Sr. High youth took a trip to Camp Swatara for the District Winter Retreat. While there, we reunited with Eric Landram, the pastor at Lititz Church of the Brethren, who some of us met on a work camp a few years ago. Along with enjoying Eric’s energetic and inspiring messages on the fruits of the spirit, we also enjoyed connecting with youth from other churches in our district, and had a lot of fun playing dodge ball, participating in bag skits, and going on a photo scavenger hunt.
The Jr. High youth are looking forward to staying up all night at the District Lock-in in February, and both groups will be participating in the district service project in March. Several of us registered for work camps in January, and we are looking forward to traveling and serving during the summer!

The youth have very much enjoyed this past holiday season. In cooperation with the Worship Commission, the youth decorated the church for Christmas. Later on in the month, we enjoyed a Christmas party and participated in a Secret Santa gift exchange. Finally, the youth and some other volunteers from the congregation set up the luminaries that lined the driveway and parking lot for the Christmas Eve Service.
In January, the Sr. High youth look forward to going to Camp Swatara for the District Winter Retreat. In February, the Jr. High youth will be attending the District Lock-in.
