Seek God’s loving presence as Creator. God has provided everyone with the desire to create. For this devotional experience the visual arts are used as a form of praying.
We invite you on this pilgrimage of prayer and creativity to deepen your relationship with God and others. Start with an open mind, a willing heart and hand and an adventurous spirit. Lent is the perfect time to explore praying and creating with a loving God. These workshops are about the process of drawing near to God through artful prayer, rather than seeking a particular outcome; although, the creative experience may surprise and delight you.
Each Sunday in Lent we will choose a different scripture, prayer practice and creative experience. Those that participate will also be invited to share their experience in the following Sunday’s worship service. We would like to take photographs of the artwork created and collect stories and reflections that this process revealed. Of course, participating in all six creative workshops would achieve the greatest benefit and we invite you to do that. But, we also invite everyone to join us for just one, if that is all time allows.
