March Youth Update

February is always an exciting time of year for the youth, and although we didn’t have much snow to play in this year, we’ve had plenty of excitement! Our seniors, Colleen, Adeline, and Dallas, are in the process of deciding on their after high school plans. We’re also rejoicing with Dave, whose high school robotics club made it to States!
In addition to the many individual accomplishments and activities of the youth, we have also had a number of activities together. The Jr. High youth went out for an evening of Laser Tag at the beginning of the month, and the Sr. High, not to be out done, went on a Laser Tag outing of their own at the end of the month. The Sr. High also enjoyed a fun Valentine’s Day themed youth group, complete with a heart scavenger hunt and a discussion about great love stories, including the greatest love story of all: God’s love for us.
Both the Jr. High and Sr. High groups are looking forward to staying up all night at the District Lock-ins, both in March. We are also getting prepared for our summer work camps! The Jr. High will be attending a work camp in Roanoke, Virginia and the Senior High will be heading off to Washington D.C. for their work camp in July. Both groups have been hard at work raising money to cover the cost of the trips, including our recent Corbi’s sale, and we’d like to thank everyone in the congregation who supported us through that sale!
We’d also like to remind everyone of our luncheon preceding the church council meeting on March 4th. We will be serving hot and cold sandwiches and salad. This is a fundraiser for the youth groups, and we greatly appreciate the congregation’s involvement and support of everything we do!
