January brought us a new year and plenty of new adventures for our youth! In January, the Sr. High were small but mighty at the Sr. High District Winter Retreat at Camp Swatara. We learned a lot from our speaker Bekah Houff, and we especially enjoyed getting to know the youth from the St. Stevens Church in Washington D.C.
On February 10th, the Jr. High Youth will be leading us in worship at both the 8:30 and 10:45 services. Right now, they are working very hard preparing their services around the theme of love. One week after that, they will be attending the District Jr. High Lock-In at Lebanon Valley College.
On March 10th, the youth will be hosting a lunch in between the 10:45 service and the Council Meeting. The money raised for this meal will go towards the National Youth Conference fund. National Youth Conference will be held in the summer of 2014!
The youth in both the Jr. High and Sr. High youth groups are also very excited because at the beginning of January, they registered for their summer work camps! We will have four Jr. High Youth and two advisors attending a work camp in Greenville, Ohio and four Sr. High youth and two advisors attending a work camp in Washington D.C. We have a busy couple of months ahead of us, but we are excited!
